- Praise God for a new realization among house churches of the opportunities for Christian witness that resulted from this earthquake.
- Praise God for the outpouring of so many through their time, prayers and donations toward serving the victims of this quake.
- Pray for a spirit of unity among Christian groups, both locals and expatriates, that they would be kingdom-minded and willing to share resources.
- Pray that local counseling ministries will have enough funds and be able to recruit suitable local and outside help to meet the needs of survivors, especially that parents and teachers can be trained to understand better how to help their traumatized children.

Pray that the Lord will send urgently needed long-term rehabilitation personnel, and that outside agencies will have favor from government officials at all levels allowing them to stay and serve in the stricken areas, and that vocational training and new jobs can be found for those whose livelihoods were destroyed by the quake.
