A recent careful survey by OMF indicates that 900 new workers will be needed for the work of reaching the neglected frontiers: 700 front-line and 200 support workers.
There has been vigorous debate about this goal. There are questions. However, one thing is certain: we are called to pray for workers. OMF has committed to pray for 900 new workers over the next five years.
Our focus is not remote places but overlooked peoples. Our frontiers are gospel frontiers and not physical frontiers. We need to reject complacency and ask the Lord for a spirit of restlessness until the work is done.
We pray that Christ may be proclaimed in every way throughout East Asia, and his Church established.
