Position: Serve Asia (short-term program) Applicant Coordinator

About OMF: OMF International is committed to seeing an indigenous biblical church movement for each people group in East Asia. Our U.S. mobilization team’s mission is to join with God to inform, inspire, influence and involve God’s people in the urgent evangelization of East Asia’s peoples through the 6 practices of mission (going, sending, praying, mobilizing, welcoming, and learning).
The Serve Asia program is one of our key strategies in this effort. We are looking for committed and gifted individual to join OMF’s Serve Asia program to invest in the lives of the many inquirers and participants God brings us, to coach them through the Serve Asia application process, and to facilitate their transition into our Follow-up program upon returning from Asia.
Requirements:
A mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Desire to see God’s glory known among the peoples of East Asia.
A teachable spirit and flexible attitude.
A heart to invest in others preparing to serve God in missions.
Enjoy working with people and strong verbal communications skills.
Short-term cross-cultural ministry experience (preferably in East Asia).
Ministry leadership experience.
Enjoy administrative tasks, strategic thinking, and project development.
Basic computer skills (word processing, e-mail, web research, spreadsheets).
Ability to speak Asian language is helpful, but not required.
Ability to work within an international, interdenominational organization.
Ability to proactively plan and work.
Ability to work on a team.
A strong support team for both prayer and finances (full financial support is needed).
Endorsed and supported by local pastor and church.
Minimum 3-year commitment.
Duties/Objective: In a professional and relational manner: to clearly and effectively communicate Serve Asia opportunities, intentionally and proactively invest in inquirers, work with participants through the application and debriefing processes and oversee internal systems of communication.
Inquiry Follow-up: Intentional and proactive investment in inquirers. Answer initial questions and phone calls. Set vision and keep up with contact follow-up strategy, making a priority to call people by phone whenever possible and as soon as possible. Focus on investing in individuals through “missions coaching.”
Participant Tracking: Relational and professional management of applicants through the process of their Serve Asia experience. Track forms, due dates and database records. Communicate interest levels in teams and keep program coordinators informed of numbers and applicants.
General Marketing: Clear and effective communication of Serve Asia opportunities. This includes regular check-in with coordinators, maintenance of promotional materials (websites and printed materials) and connecting inquirers and mobilizers with these resources.
System Tracking: Clear and effective communication within the Serve Asia team. Maintain consistency of spreadsheets and database. Discuss needs of individuals and recognize where more communication is needed in order to work together as a team and keep information updated.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and support level (you will need to raise full financial support for living and ministry expenses). We ask mobilization team members to raise support to decrease the amount of money field workers need to contribute to mobilization expenses.
