God is doing amazing things in East Asia, and through mobilization, we have the privilege of being part of his purposes to draw the unreached into relationship with himself through Jesus Christ! It is both exciting and humbling to be used by him to connect people and resources here in the U.S. to the vast spiritual and physical needs in East Asia.

Our Mobilization Department desires to give you the opportunity to explore this aspect of missions involvement, and to provide an environment in which you can grow in your personal relationship with Christ and your understanding of your unique role in the Great Commission.

About OMF (Overseas Missionary Fellowship)

Mission: To glorify God by the urgent evangelization of East Asia's peoples.

Vision: Through God’s grace, we aim to see an indigenous biblical church movement in each people group of East Asia, evangelizing their own people and reaching out in mission to other peoples.

OMF International consists of about 1,300 members sent from 30 different countries serving in 16 fields in East Asia. Our International Headquarters is located in Singapore. OMF was founded in 1865 as the China Inland Mission by Hudson Taylor. Although the name and geographical scope of the ministry have changed, the core purposes of the mission remain the same.

OMF (U.S.) serves primarily in the role of mission’s mobilization, moving people to become a part of the work God is doing in Asia.

Mission (specific to OMF U.S.): To glorify God by mobilizing resources for the urgent evangelization of East Asia's peoples.

Specifically, we want to see people, prayer and material resources sent to do God's work through OMF in East Asia.

Current Mobilization Team and Roles in U.S. Office

Mark Bradley, Mobilization Coordinator. Mark is the coordinator for the mobilization team. He has ten years of experience in the U.S. office, in addition to his ten years of experience with OMF in Japan. Mark is the communication hub. He provides much of the regular vision casting for the team, and helps team members come together for projects where one person’s work can serve others.

Angie Long, Serve Asia Coordinator. Angie is responsible for sending out all of our short-term missionaries that serve for less than six months. These workers are usually in their 20s and serve alongside our long-term missionaries on the field. These include church and campus teams, individuals and the traditional Serve Asia teams that go predominately during the summer months.

Jason Wu, Follow-up Coordinator. Jason helps follow up people who have indicated an interest in working with OMF in East Asia. He challenges them to make intentional decisions about future missionary service, or their potential as senders and mobilizers.

Diane Halkowich, Prayer Coordinator. Diane mobilizes prayer for the work of OMF. She recruits and trains prayer leaders, supplies people with materials to pray effectively, and communicates regularly with our workers on the field about current prayer needs.

Other mobilizers not based in the Denver office:

Regional Mobilizers (Six, focused on geographical areas of the U.S.).

Alex Smith, Buddhist World Mobilizer.

Brian Newton, Muslim World Mobilizer.

Glenys Goulstone, Professional Service Mobilizer (working with Christian professionals seeking to work in creative-access nations).

Our Investment in You

  • Your personal relationship with God: Your intimacy with Christ is the most important aspect of following Him and bringing glory to Him. We want to encourage and challenge you to pursue Jesus with greater passion and to love Him with your attention, your affections, and your actions.
  • Your unique role in the Great Commission: As you explore missions from an “inside” perspective, you will be given various opportunities to see where you best “fit,” and where you see your talents and gifts being most valuable. One aspect of this will include a short-term trip to one of our field countries in East Asia to gain increased vision and understanding of God’s redemptive work in an up-close and personal way. Through these different ministry opportunities, we trust that God will reveal to you what He has created you to be and do in His love story with the world!
  • Your community: Personal growth happens in the context of honest and authentic relationships with others. Full-time ministry has its ups and downs and as a mobilization team, we journey through them together. As you interact with us and with other interns, you will be consistently encouraged and challenged to keep your eyes on Jesus to remain committed to the eternal goal. You’ll also have plenty of fun and lots of laughs!
  • Your career development: You will gain a wide variety of work experience as you serve in both relational and administrative responsibilities. You will be trained and equipped to serve in your specific mobilization areas, and you will have opportunities to learn through various conferences we host at our office for missionaries and new workers. Regular team meetings will be held to learn about ministry specific issues such as: partnership development (support raising); leadership;biblical basis for missions; cross-cultural work; personal mission, vision, and strategy development; prayer; etc.
