Graphic Designer-Urgent Need

Position Description
God has given OMF International a heart for Asia and the desire to bring his hope to billions. We are seeking an experienced Graphic Designer with passion to offer gifts and creativity on behalf of the peoples of East Asia. This designer will work with the Communications team to produce materials (print, web, video, interactive media) that communicate OMF International’s brand, purpose and message to the North American Christian audience, calling them to deepening involvement in bringing the hope of Christ to the peoples of East Asia.

Supervised by: U.S. Communications Coordinator
Status: Full-time (32 hours/week) paid hourly / non-exempt
Location: Littleton, CO.

Major Responsibilities

Develop visuals, including art direction, for media campaigns that invite U.S. Christians to become more involved in reaching the peoples of East Asia for Christ:

  • Develop and incorporate design into a variety of mediums and across operating systems: print pieces, digital media, web, video, PowerPoint/Keynote, books, displays and the like.
  • Implement established style elements for directed campaigns including application of brand components for consistency and long-term impact.
  • Evaluate assigned projects according to audience, communication trends and creative possibilities to drive brand awareness and effectiveness.
  • Manage assigned media projects with excellence and efficiency, taking projects from concept to production according to set deadlines.
  • Contribute to the creative thinking and overall art direction to U.S. mobilization thrusts and advertising.
  • Manage interactions with vendors for assigned print projects in order to ensure accurate and professional results to further our communication goals.
  • Keep current on design and communication trends to incorporate them into the overall U.S. communication strategies in order to enhance OMF International’s brand and media presence.

Serve the various departments of OMF International in their communications needs by leading in the process of strategy and project development:

  • Interact with organizational leaders to guide them through development of communication strategies and accompanying media tools to improve the brand effectiveness of their ministry.
  • Support the ministry of OMF Books through the design and layout of books, prayer guides and other materials that equip believers on their missions journey.
  • Develop and maintain the professional communication pieces such as letterhead, business cards, forms, name badges and the other basic office tools.

Qualifications

  • Love for Jesus Christ and growing relationship with him.
  • Passion for East Asia and reaching its peoples for God’s glory.
  • A self-starter and motivator; ability to proactively plan, work, meet deadlines and contribute to a team.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Office.
  • A strong knowledge of color, design and print theory.
  • Ability to relate to staff at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working and interpersonal relationships.
  • The ability to work within an international, interdenominational organization.
  • A teachable spirit and flexible attitude.
  • Minimum two-year commitment, three years preferred.
  • Experience in cross-cultural ministry preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience preferred.

Compensation:

This is a 32-hour per week paid position. It is a hourly, non-exempt position that includes paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, medical, dental and optical insurance coverage as well as a 403(b) retirement plan. OMF International (U.S.) desires to fill this position as soon as possible.
