The preparation process usually covers three months, from time of acceptance to the date of departure. Here is a summary of the preparation checklist you will receive.

If you are joining a team, your team leader will be walking through this process with you. Click here to find out more about Serve Asia Leaders / Missions Mentors .

  • First Month: Once you are accepted into the Serve Asia program, a preparation packet will be sent to help you prepare for your specific country of service. You will be asked to send in a program deposit to confirm your participation in the program, and clear directions will be provided for raising financial support. As you read over the materials, send out prayer letters and pray for financial provision, it will be a time of working diligently and watching God lead and provide.
  • Second Month: Logistics may become overwhelming at this point, but spiritual preparation is even more important! Spend time in personal prayer, pray with friends, write your testimony, get to know your team or host and collect basic tools like games, songs or teaching ideas. Immunizations and medical forms are to be sent in six weeks before departure.
  • Third Month: For most participants, the third month will include packing, receiving visas and tickets and meeting the finance deadline two weeks before departure. For those who are accepted into the program at a later date, this month may include some fast catching up!
