Critical Personnel Needs:

Ministry among Buddhist People Groups
OMF works among 30+ different people groups with a total population of approximately 160 million people. The largest target groups have been devoted Buddhists for centuries. We long to see a movement of multiplying communities of believers among these people who have been blinded by their belief system for so long. Many of these Buddhist peoples belong to the Dai race and therefore speak Thai related languages. The Bamar (Burmese), Lao and Vietnamese are also major Buddhist people groups. We build relationships with Buddhist people by serving the community. We foster church multiplication movements by abundant sowing, chronological Bible teaching and cultivating spiritual leadership. We therefore look for different people with a wide variety of skills.

Our teams need people able to engage in church planting related activities in creative ways. Flexibility, perseverance in cultural and language acquisition and the willingness to maintain a low profile in the “Creative Access Nation” context are required.

Ministry among Animistic People Groups
The majority of people groups in the region are animists. God has moved in mighty ways among some of them in recent years. Others are virtually untouched by the Gospel. Among some there is a growing church in one part of the region, while almost no church exists in other parts. For some of these unreached people groups we have no workers - yet. Through a variety of projects (agricultural, medical, literacy, business, etc.) OMF workers help these rural people and in the process share Christ’s love for them. Wherever possible we work in partnership with local believers, aiming to encourage and teach them in effective church planting. Creativity, flexibility and a vision for a movement of multiplying local churches are needed for the work among the many unreached people groups of the region.

Team Ministries
To enable and empower workers at the front line, a variety of people are needed in support roles. They make a critical contribution to the advance of the Gospel in the area. This category includes teachers at international schools and informal schools, as well as helpers assisting home schooling families, IT/database assistants, etc. Participating in a prayer journeys is another way of contributing to the strategic ministries in the region.
