Retired Missionary Needs

Serving Those Who Have Served

As builders of a living heritage, OMF International missionaries who have given lifetimes of active service in East Asia are “reassigned” to ministry here at home when they reach retirement age. Many see support drop after retirement. Returning to the United States, most do not own a home. Years of savings are often modest. OMF International is committed to caring for our retirees when they are no longer actively serving others or providing for themselves.

OMF International has now instituted a tax-qualified 403b retirement plan for active workers. But those savings will not help current retirees, nor will older currently-active missionaries be able to save enough in their 403b accounts before they retire.

The Lammermuir Fund was established in the mid 1990s by a leading Christian foundation and by the matching contributions of individual donors. The fund continues to help defray the growing costs of retirement care for all missionaries.

To support retired missionaries in general, please indicate that your giving preference is to the Lammermuir Fund.

If you prefer, instead, to contribute to the support of a particular retired missionary or missionary couple, please specifically identify them by name when you send your donation to us.

OMF International is honored by the lives and legacies of our reassigned members. Upon request we would love to share their stories, testimonies, and prayer needs. For more information please contact Retiree Care at 800.422.5330.
