Littleton, Colorado – December 3, 2010 – The U.S. Board of Directors and international leadership of OMF International are pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Littlefield as National Director of OMF International (U.S.). He succeeds Dr. Neil Thompson who has served as National Director since 2001, and he will begin his leadership duties January 1, 2011.

Michael and LeMei Littlefield joined OMF International in 1986.

They left the U.S. to serve in Taiwan in 1987. During their first four-year term they were involved in church planting in south Taiwan. They lived in Taipei during their second term, where they were responsible for the oversight and pastoral care of 25 missionaries as well as discipleship ministry in the local church.

From 1998-2004 Michael served as International Director for Personnel from Singapore. Michael’s responsibilities included overseeing the selection and initial training of missionaries, education of missionary children, personnel policy and member care. In 2004 the Littlefields moved to Littleton, Colorado where Michael took up the role of Director for Personnel for OMF International (U.S.). Responsibilities include overseeing the selection, training and ongoing enablement of U.S. missionaries to East Asia, and the development of Human Resource services.

“OMF International is confident in the leadership of Michael and LeMei Littlefield, who have been long-term members of OMF International. Their godly spiritual lives continue to be an inspiration and model to men and women in mission,” said Robert Erion, Deputy International Director for Mobilization.

Littlefield shares his vision: “Our founder, Hudson Taylor was passionately in love with Jesus, and expressed that love by bringing Jesus Christ, ‘the hope of glory’ (Colossians 1:27), to men and women. While the East Asia we face is very different than the China Taylor faced, there remains a reality that drives us to our knees: billions are without hope and need Jesus. I am excited to see how the Holy Spirit will be leading us into the spiritual battle for God’s kingdom in East Asia, and I am honored to serve this fellowship through leading.”

About OMF International:

God has given OMF International a heart for Asia and the desire to bring his hope to billions. Growing out of the same passion God placed in the heart of our founder, J. Hudson Taylor, we serve the people of East Asia. Christ’s love compels us to touch lives by giving our lives to him first, and then to others. Through serving, building relationships, evangelism and discipleship, we work to see communities beneficially changed. Learn more about volunteer, short- and long-term opportunities.
