Donna Wasson
Missionary to Taiwan
The busy life of a Chicago career woman left Donna Wasson unfulfilled. She longed for something with greater eternal value than the insurance business. Her desire to study the Bible led her to a one-year program at Moody Bible Institute. While there, she not only learned her Bible, but was confronted with the needs of the unsaved in Southeast Asia. She was introduced to OMF at MBI's missions conference.
Donna grew up on a farm in Central Illinois, and came to know Christ at a Josh McDowell seminar her freshman year at college. She was looking towards a good career and a nice apartment. She started working in Chicago in 1980. A year later she began attending Moody Church. There she yielded her life to Christ without reserve. Her priorities shifted and she longed to know more about God and His Word.
Donna joined OMF in June of 1984 just after her time at MBI, and left for Asia in December of 1985. She spent two years in learning Mandarin Chinese at the Taichugn Language school. Donna has done factory evangelism for the last two terms.
She received her BA from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, and her Advanced Studies Certificate from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.
Between her second and third terms Donna took a study leave and completed with distinction a counselor training program at Wheaton Graduate School. She will use that training when she returns to Taiwan the beginning of 2003.
