Scott and Jennifer Tibbetts

Evangelizing and Church Planting in Thailand

In 1997 Scott and Jennifer Tibbetts traveled to Central Thailand to follow the call of God on their lives. They had a passion to see many Thai people learn about God, invite Jesus to be their Savior, grow in their understanding of the Bible and how to apply it to their lives. The Tibbetts’ desire is to see the national church of Thailand built up until enough Thai people are actively reaching other Thai for Christ so that the church no longer needs the support of missionary workers.

After completing initial language study in 1998 Scott and Jennifer have worked for two terms with a new church plant, God’s Glory Community Church, along with other missionaries and a full-time Thai worker. The church has grown and matured over the years to the glory of God. The Tibbettses have been involved with evangelism, discipleship, small groups, pre-marital counseling, English clubs, mentoring, preaching, Sunday school training and Bible studies.

Scott was raised in a loving family, yet his search for meaning and purpose in life led him to practice Buddhism until Jesus came into his life at age 20. Since finding true peace in Christ, Scott has longed to reach other people lost in Buddhism with the gospel. After graduating from Nyack College with a degree in elementary education, he completed an M.Div. (pastoral) from Biblical Theological Seminary.

Jennifer came to know Jesus at a young age and had the unique experience of living in Malaysia for four years while her parents were teachers at a school for missionary children. Over the years, God increasingly grew the desire in Jennifer to serve Christ in a land where Christ is little proclaimed. To pursue her missions calling, Jennifer attended St. Paul Bible College (now Crown College) for a degree in world missions.

Scott and Jennifer are available to share what God is doing in Southeast Asia through platform presentations, Sunday school classes, youth groups and small group meetings.
