Paul and Naomi Pruitt

Working among Chinese in the UK

Paul came to know the Lord prior to entering Miami University (Ohio), where he was later discipled and exposed to world missions. After several short-term missions trips, Paul felt the Lord was calling him to give his life to reach out to the Chinese. Naomi came to know the Lord as a child in Tokyo, and similarly heard God’s call to reach the Chinese while she was in college.

Paul and Naomi later met at, and graduated from, Columbia International University, Paul with an M.Div and Naomi with a B.S. in Bible and missions. They married in 1986, joined OMF in 1987 and left for the mission field in 1989. They served their first term in Taiwan and China, and their second term in church planting in Tokyo. Their third and fourth terms were spent in Oxford, England, where they helped to start a Mandarin-speaking congregation.

Last year Paul was appointed to be the international coordinator for OMF’s worldwide Chinese Diaspora Ministries (CDM). Now based in Denver, Paul and Naomi are seeking to grow the CDM ministry’s size and effectiveness worldwide in keeping with the ever-growing Chinese diaspora.

Paul and Naomi have four children: Joshua (18), Hosanna (16), Justin (13) and Jeremy (10).
