Robert Nordstrom, with his wife Laurie, OMF International's regional director in the central United States, brings a decade of cross-cultural experience to his role of mobilizing and equpping the church for missions. He doesn't simply promote missions as something happening in far-off lands. Rather, Robert connects with what God is doing around the world with God's purposes here in the United States. His ministry helps believers and churches grow in the love of God so they can share the love of God with others.
Born in Illinois, Robert became a Christian while studying at Oxford University. After finishing his BA at Cornell University, Robert earned an MA from the University of Texas and an MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He served for two years as a youth and Christian education director in Michigan. In Thailand, Robert and Laurie worked first among Buddhists and then in Bangkok's extensive Malay community. They have been involved in personal evangelism, community development work and Bible translation projects.
Robert and Laurie were married in 199. They have two children: Julia (born 2003) and Christopher (born 2006).
Robert speaks passionately about God's work in Asia. He loved to communicate God's heart for the lost and testify to the power of prayer.
