Littlefield, Michael and LeMei
Michael and LeMei Littlefield
U.S. Director for Personnel
Michael grew up in New Hampshire. He served four years in the U.S. Coast Guard before God called him into ministry during his senior year at the University of New Hampshire. LeMei grew up in Taiwan, where her father was employed as an engineer. After graduating from Antioch College, she returned to Taiwan and taught three years at Tung Hai University.
Michael and LeMei met at Gordon-Conwell Seminary, where they graduated with a Masters of Divinity and a Masters of Theological Studies, respectively. They married in 1983 following a summer mission trip to Pakistan. Soon after, they came into contact with OMF International and joined the mission in 1986.
The Littlefields left the U.S. to serve in Taiwan in 1987, after completing two years as associate pastor of a church near Boston. During their first four-year term they were involved in church planting in south Taiwan. They lived in Taipei during their second term, where they were responsible for the oversight and pastoral care of 25 missionaries. Afterward, they were invited to join OMF's international leadership team in Singapore.
From 1998 to 2004 Michael and LeMei served in OMF's international headquarters in Singapore as director for personnel. Michael's responsibilities included overseeing the selection and initial training of missionaries, education of missionary children, personnel policy and member care.
Currently, the Littlefields reside in Littleton, Colorado, where Michael serves as director for personnel at the OMF-U.S. homeside. Michael and LeMei draw on their experiences in Taiwan and Singapore to oversee the selection, training and ongoing enablement of missionaries to East Asia. Their three children, Stacia (1986), Aaron (1988) and Micala (1992), are "third-culture kids" with a love for their Asian roots.
