Setsu Kuroda

Japanese Christian Fellowship Network

Setsu was born in Tokyo, Japan, into a Japanese family. She spent the first 15 years of her life in Japan, and has now returned there to establish a Japan office for Japanese Christian Fellowship Network (JCFN), a ministry that nurtures and helps new Japanese Christians returning from study in the U.S. to find a church in Japan.

Setsu grew up in a Christian home. Her father was a pastor and Setsu came to know Christ personally through the ministry of her parents. She had contact with OMF missionaries on many occasions, and through JCFN became further acquainted with OMF. The Lord gave her a strong burden to reach out to Japanese students and business people and their families and she spent several years ministering to the ethnic Japanese community in the U.S. with JCFN before going to minister in Japan.

She received her BS in biology from the University of Redlands and an MA in cross-cultural studies from Fuller Theological Seminary. Makiki Christian Church, her home church in Hawaii, is strongly supportive of her service to the Japanese.
