Myron and Betty Harrison

Missionaries to the Philippines

Myron and Betty Harrison have experienced the Lord's hand upon their lives during the past years of ministry, as they have had opportunities to minister to both Filipinos and OMF missionaries.

They were both called to cross-cultural ministry while attending Moody Bible Institute, where they first met. Their interest in missions in Asia and in OMF grew as they continued their studies.

Myron comes from northern Wisconsin and has an MA in missions and evangelism from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, while Betty comes from Eastern Ontario where she trained as a nurse. After marriage both attended Fort Wayne Bible College (now part of Taylor University) where Myron received a BSc in Christian education and Betty in missionary nursing.

In their early years on the field, the Harrisons were involved in church planting and development. Myron has been both an area director and the field director of OMF Philippines. Those ministries provided numerous opportunities to encourage and mentor younger OMF missionaries in the Philippines as well as Filipino leaders and pastors. His ministry was multiplied as he sought to develop and lead colleagues into more fruitful ministry.

Myron and Betty now minister in theological education and leadership training. Betty also ministers in a small squatter church among Manila's urban poor and has a telephone ministry among Filipino women who call asking for advice and prayer.
