Friedberg, Matt and Casey
Matt and Casey Friedberg
Serving in Cambodia
Matt was born in 1967 and grew up in a loving Catholic home in Southern California. He became a Christian at age 17. A few months later, while at a youth event, Matt felt the Lord put a desire in his heart for missionary work. He has been an electrical contractor for the last eleven years.
Casey was born in 1968 and raised in Southern California. She grew up in a non-Christian home until the age of 12. At that time, through various trials, Casey and her mother came to know the Lord. Casey felt called to missions in 1985 after a short-term trip to Mexico that included painting an orphanage. Her eyes were opened to the need and she was never the same again. After high school she trained to be a registered nurse, hoping to someday utilize those skills cross-culturally.
Matt and Casey were married in 1990 and have two daughters. Micah was born in 1997 and Jordan was born in 1999. They have pursued missions and outreach ministry with various short-term trips to the Philippines, Mexico, Spain and East Asia. They also completed a discipleship training school with YWAM in South Africa and were able to minister in several countries in Africa.
They currently homeschool their children and are involved in their home church, Lighthouse Christian Fellowship in San Juan Capistrano, California. Matt is taking Bible classes and working to complete his bachelor’s degree in Bible.
In June 2006 Matt and Casey were accepted as OMF appointees. They desire to serve in Cambodia, to see souls saved and discipled, and to build up the present church. They want to accomplish this through church planting, evangelism and medical outreach.
