Brooks, Will and Meng En

Will and Meng En Brooks

Missionaries to Thailand

Every once in a while, one runs across something that just seems to go against conventional wisdom, and is left with the question, how? It was Meng En’s father who asked this of the couple right before they were married: how did you end up together? Will and Meng En, having been born in two different countries, continents and cultures, understand the paradigm shaping the sovereign work of almighty God, who was pleased to bring these two together for His purposes.

Meng En grew up in Taiwan along with four other siblings in their bustling family of seven. Meng En and her two sisters were the first to turn to Jesus in their family, and at a very young age, Meng En was burdened with the idea of ministry in Thailand. This would be the seed the Lord planted that would eventually lead Meng En to serve in that country. After graduating from Chung Thai Theological Seminary in Taiwan, and gaining valuable experience in ministry, Meng En joined OMF to serve in Thailand.

Will, having been born in the States, grew up not knowing too much about the Lord’s work among the peoples of the world. But he did know about Jesus through a family and culture that nurtured a lifestyle of faith. But it wasn’t until Will attended university that any inkling of a calling for missions was known to him. And so it was that, after meeting OMF representatives and having a desire to see God’s passion for His glory in the nations realized, Will committed to going wherever the Lord would lead. In 1997 Will recognized the Lord leading him to Thailand.

It was in 1999 when Will and Meng En met in Thailand, he serving as an associate, and she as a full member of OMF. They were married in 2002. After Will completed studies in cross-cultural ministry at Dallas Theological Seminary, the couple began preparing to return to ministry in Central Thailand as full members of OMF. They hope to return in 2006 and be involved in church planting while building relationships through the simple means of ministry in hospitality and sports. With hearts for community building, both Will and Meng En are committed to seeing people’s lives transformed by the Savior, to His praise and glory.
