Dick and Donna Andrews
Northwest Regional Director
Dick and Donna Andrews are missionary educators who direct OMF International’s U.S. Northwest Region in Seattle.
Following a childhood in Hawaii among friends of Polynesian and East Asian heritage, Dick eagerly undertoook Far Eastern language and literature studies at the University of Washington, and graduated with teaching credentials in American and English literature. His favorite accomplishment during a 15 year public school career was challenging hundreds of secular teens in the popular course “The Bible as Literature.”
A master’s degree in education (TEFL) led to an opportunity for Dick, his wife Donna and their sons to live for two years in northern China where Dick taught methodology, English literature and writing.
As an animated and practical Bible teacher, Dick has been keynote conference speaker for college and career groups and church retreats. He has served Seattle and Denver area churches as a lay pastor-teacher, counselor, and church elder.
Dick has co-authored the booklet China At Your Doorstep: Christian Friendship With Mainland Chinese.
Since joining OMF in 1985, they led the U.S. China Program, and have developed and coordinated China Awareness Seminars in North America, Hawaii and Korea. They have also directed the Ethnic Ministries Program, facilitating ministry among international students.
As mobilizers, Dick and Donna seek to guide and motivate missionary candidates and Christian professionals who can work among East Asia’s unreached millions. They continue prayerfully preparing for their future return to East Asia as professional English teachers.
