OMF Blog
Subject – Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday!
Andrew Shaw - Friday 08 August 2008Dear all, here is the latest eagerly awaited blog entry from the land of Thai as written by “the girls”.
Sunday we visited the student’s church, didn’t really understand the service but the food was nice! We understood one song and sang our hearts out in English to “I could sing of your love forever” and various halleluiah’s. Sunday evening we enjoyed cell group where we played ‘human bop it’ and discovered that P Julia has moves! Chris, Simon and Andrew don’t, especially when it comes to the chicken on a BBQ dance. Eleri and Becky rocked the cockroach dance!
Monday we visited Sukkhothai, the beautiful ancient capital of Thailand, and cycled on our brightly coloured bikes. The day was brilliantly topped off with a mountain of ice-cream from Swensons!
Tuesday we taught English to our Thai students, (including the phrase “you’re a Banana”, which they liked very much!). Eleri, Becky, P Noon and P Julia attempted Thai aerobics, and again we marveled at P Julia’s moves, whilst we laughed hysterically at our own efforts. P. Noon then took us to the Tuesday night market where a crocodile ate Becky. Sorry… Becky ate crocodile!
Today (Wednesday), we taught English again. P Ann surprised us by taking us out for ice cream! We just can’t get enough of it! We went on a survey and two girls came back with us and are attending camp this year. Pray they will listen to the good news and that God will speak to them.
Prayer Points:
- Financial provision for the camp.
- For those who attend camp both Christians and not yet Christians!
- For the teams and camp organizers- that in this busy time of preparation God will be glorified and that they will be able to get some sleep!
- Safe keeping
- Encouragement
- And thank God for the amazing opportunities we have been given!
Thanks for reading
Becky and Eleri! J
