Conference Looms!

- Monday 30 July 2007

Well everyone we head off to conference tomorrow. We are all really excited about it and looking forward to meeting all the OMF workers in Cambodia and their children! We have had a fab couple of days since last blog, we went on a tour yesterday of the capital, Phnom Penh. It was amazing, there were so many sights to see. We were at the palace of the king - gold everywhere as were all the temples. We also went to the killing fields and the prison of Toul Sleng. This was a really emotional time and was really hard to take in and contemplate what exactly went on during those years of the Khmer Rouge.

We also went to the National Museum and saw a bit of Cambodia's early history - this gave a really good insight into how the country is as it is today. Unfortunately I can't put any photos up as it will wipe our camera memory cards - apparently the computers here can't cope with it.

We went to a Khmer church this morning. The service was 2 1/2 hours long!!! A little bit different to the UK!!! It was interesting to see what happened at them but we couldn't understand a word!!! Well better go here but please do continue to remember us especially this week as we head to conference tomorrow morning at 7am!!! Some of us aren't to good at the old getting up business!!! Pray God really blesses the OMF workers and the speaker Scott Shaum. Pray for the kids too that their programme that we have organised will run without any accidents or hitches and that God's Holy Spirit will be present with us giving him the praise and honour. Thanks again - Team Cambodia :-)
