Spice Girls, Church and Painting

Thailand Birkett - Monday 13 August 2007

When OMF asked that we be ‘flexible’, what none of us had in mind was that that might include singing a ‘Spice Girls’ song in a Thai church to celebrate Mother’s Day! However, that is precisely what we found ourselves doing this morning! ‘Mama I love you’ was received very well indeed – watch the video here !!

We thoroughly enjoyed today’s Thai church service in a national park, with a baptism in the pool at the top of a fast flowing waterfall. This was also the first experience of church for three Thai students, two of whom were Phai and Kung who we asked you to pray for the other day. Praise God for that!

Left to right: Ros, Alison, Rosie, Helen, Kung, Priau, Jillian, Phai, Matt.

Yesterday we had the honour of serving our missionaries Julia and Kerry-Ann in a very practical way by painting their office! ‘Changing Rooms’ has nothing on us! The room is now transformed and closely resembles a sea-shore in radiant yellow and blue! We are sure that they will spend many happy hours working in there and remembering our team as they do!

  • Hi team,
Wow, you people sound busy and creative! Keep up the good work, praying for you.
At camp Alison said she didn't know exactly what you would be doing in Phitsanulok. Surprised it involves pretending to be Spice Girls, but I am sure (well, sure-ish) that Matt and Rosie know what they are doing... Praying for you as a team; especially that your unity and love for one another might be a witness to all.
