'Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.' Proverbs 3:3
Hello everyone, a quick one...some updates then requests :)
the words above are some that B, the new thai believer shared with me this week, he is such an encouragement.
Praise God that he is starting so well, his love for God and his Bible are a challenge to anyone, he is getting settled into church and is definately part of the youth-house family. Pray that he would continue as he's started, and as he puts it "fight" to remember the love and faithfulness of God.
Give thanks for the Bible study on Thursday. It was a privilege to be there, and to see people breathtaken at how God has forgiven them absolutely for free. It's so good to see the newer Christians finding joy in this truth - and a challenge to us who take it for granted...
We had our day trip yesterday...to the swamp with students from Lopburi and Phitsanalok - which wasn't really a swamp but more of a crocodile pit. Got to see my first crocodile, and was unimpressed until someone threw some meat down... We also took a boat ride in a lake which I was assured contained no crocodiles. To finish off we had a Korean BBQ that defied more than one food hygene rule - great fun and no food poisoning!
Praise God for the people who came from Nakhon Sawan, especially those brought by friends. There seem to be a regular group who are coming to events who do not yet believe.
Pray that the talk given on 'what do you most want in life?' would have challenged students. And that they would look beyond success here and now to the fulness of joy found only in knowing and serving God.
Not sure what the plans are yet this week, but as it's the last week i've a couple of general prayer requests...
Pray for M, K and Y who are regulars finding out more. It would be great to chat with them more this week as their english is pretty good.
Pray that as I spend time with the Christian students we would be able to encourage another to serve Christ with everything in England/Thailand.
Pray for God's blessing on the ongoing work of befriending, sharing the gospel and discipling in the clubs/Bible studies this week.
Hope that's fuel enough for now :) i'd better head to bed, we've got a sleepover at the youth house tonight.
it's a wonderful encouragement to know you are praying,
love in Him, john

Hey - I realised this week that I would be away from home for most of your time in Thailand which got me rather annoyed because I couldn't be kept up to date. But I just got back from church camp and have had a chance to quickly read your entries - it sounds totally amazing out there! So wonderful that God's been changing lives :D I had tried texting you when I was at aber but my phone wouldn't let me.
Anyway, seeing as it's 3.40am I should probably head to bed but I'll be sure to read about your adventures properly in the morning and pray for you. Look forward to seeing you soon, mate.
God Bless and lots of love,
geth.

Hopefully this time it'll work...
Hello John, glad to hear you're well and enjoying Thailand, sounds like a great time you're having! Well keep up the great work and well done for doing it - it's really encouraging to see a christian guy "stepping out" in the more distant mission field! May God continue to richly bless you.
