Welcome to the Japan Sendai team blog. There's four of us heading to Sendai - Mark (Forthy), John, Jen and James, and we're going to be serving this summer (1 July - 4 August) alongside the existing team of OMF missionaries there.     On Sunday morning we had our first experience of a Japanese church meeting. Aside from the obvious linguistic differences it was not dissimilar to what we are used to: we sang songs (written out for ignorant westerners phonetically in romaji, Roman characters), prayed, heard (or read!) a sermon (which John Taylor gave in Japanese) and shared the Lord`s supper.   • Making Contact


    Over the last few days we`ve been doing a lot of flyering for the International Cafes, and excitingly have received two responses (highly unusual success rate - 2 in about 500 at that stage!). We also had a slightly surreal encounter while delivering a few flyers on the way home late one evening...
