Feedback from camp...
Thailand McClean - Friday 10 August 2007Well, our weekend at the camp was certainly tiring with late nights and early starts but it was great to see that all the effort was not in vain. Everyone seemed to have a great time and most importantly we saw a large number of Buddhist students, who previous had little knowledge of Jesus investigating His claims for themselves, with many (about two-thirds) saying that they would like to continue to do so after the camp - Praise God for this and please do continue to pray for these people now that they have returned home from the camp. We also had the tremendous encouragement of seeing about 5 or 6 students declare for the first time that they would like to become Christians - This means that there's a party in Heaven - woohoo! (Luke 15: 8-10)
The Camp was situated in idyllic surrounding next to a lake and as well as the bible studies we worked alongside a team of 4 people from New York to run workshops and activities both indoors and out in the heat! These were somewhat chaotic but great fun (well at least if my Juggling workshop was anything to go by) and helped in getting to know the students. We also held a "Guru" question time where it was encouraging to see so many interesting and worthwhile questions being put to the panel by intrigued students.
- Please do pray that the seed that was sown this weekend would continue to grow and produce a harvest in the months and years to come.
- Praise God for the first-fruits of this harvest which we have seen and pray that those who have started a new walk with Christ would continue in obedience to Him, growing to love Him more each day!
