Before I travelled to the Philippines my plan was to write an exciting frequent blog for my short time there... I didnt manage to even write one!
There was so much to write about and so much to do there... the team have challenged me in many ways.
Mostly I was involved in 'Taytayan' - doing a health survey of the Muslim Urban Poor Communities. This was really hard in some ways because a lot of the children were so malnourished and in need of healthcare but couldnt afford it. However I was able to offer advice where I could, and doing the survey also gave me the opportunity to talk to many of the families and understand more of how their community works.
I also spent a lot of time doing 'Sinalikway Outreach' with the team. It was different to projects I had done before because we didnt have to specifcally 'do' anything. We just spent time hanging out with the people who live and work on the streets of Davao, including children, youth and workers in the sex trade. This gave us amazing opportunities to talk to them about God and their struggles.
The team were so great to work with and do so much. I could write about so much more, but please visit the MUPT website (

) And keep praying for this team.
