Bangkok baby!!

welcome to our blog :-)

the team have arrived and are settling in well in the OMF house in Bangkok. yesterday we had some orientation and some language lessons...which were very interesting! unfortunately none of us showed a natural abitlity for thai, but we have managed to learn some basics like hello and thankyou. pray that we will retain what we have learnt and that we will learn some more as we go along. we would love our communication with the students in Phitsanulok to be more than just hello and thankyou!

today we explored a little of Bangkok, to see some of the Thai culture in real life. we went to the grand palace, which i thought was awesome but some others thought was a bit over-decorated...every square metre was either covered in gold paint or mosaic! it was clear here, and also while driving around the neighbourhood and the city, how important religion is in the Thai life. pray that we will be able to bring some of the true light of Jesus into these dark places.

thats all for now...we move to Phitsanulok tomorrow!

Both churches had about thirty members, the church that we went to has recently swollen in numbers with abut 10 new believers coming a...

Julia runs the Youth House for the students where we will be working.
