News: Almost Over
- Sunday 26 August 2007Greetings from relatively cool Chiang Mai!
This past week has been a crazy whirlwind of fun, sadness, goodbyes, songs, hilarity, hard work and chocolate milk...this is our first chance to catch you up on it, so here goes...
Monday saw us thrown into some spontaneous English teaching at a primary school and secondary school. We had been invited by Noi, a Christian teacher, and it was a good chance to support her. Pray for her witness in that school.
Things went up hill as of the beginning of the week - so your prayers for our energy were answered!!
A highlight was the LOOK cafe on Wednesday night. We spent the evening sharing Bristish culture with our Thai Student friends at the Youth House. Some features of this were a quiz about England, a competition to say 'Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwryndrobwllllantisiliogogogoch', Scottish dancing and various british foods to try. We also had a short talk about how the God of the Bible is not the God only of our culture but of the whole world. Pray that students would be affected by this news.
The students gave us a fantastic send off with a hilarious song, and then on Thursday we set off on the train for Chiang Mai, which is where we are now. We've had some really helpful input about processing what we've learnt here and about returning home and we've ridden on elephants!! Its been really refreshing, and we would just really value your prayers about going home.
