We have arrived. We arrived safely at Tokyo, Narita at 9:30am Tokyo time (1am London Time) yesterday, and were greeted by Georgia. Having left London at 2:45pm on the 29th, we arrived in Tokyo at 9:30am on the 30th.

We bought lunch at the local convenience store. Lots of bento and onigiri.

We rested in the afternoon, and went out in the evening for okonomiyaki and a 10...

Today was our chance to develop our understanding of the culture in Japan. Meeting with Steve who was leading us through the dos and don'ts of being respectable in this highly reserved culture. The Japanese are very particular about cleanliness and hygiene so there were lots of points about this, such as taking off shoes were entering a house and resting feet on furniture. Thursday focused on developing language skills in the group, working in small groups to practice basic conversation pieces such as greetings and commonly used phrases we might need whilst speaking with native Japanese. This was mainly done so as to ensure that we were polite whilst here since careful consideration must usually be taken when speaking to people, particularly elders.

It's been a busy week, but the blog post is finally back.

We've been run close to ragged, even on our days off (Nice work from Alaric).

We've been involved with students on three different fronts, and just as we start enjoying it, we realize that it is going to end soon.
