Burma (Myanmar) cyclone news

04/05/2008 10:17 pm

Due to power cuts all over water pumps are not working. Shortage of clean water is a great problem. Shelter is missing to a large degree in some areas, but not consistently. Gas prices have gone up from 2,000 to 10,000 per gallon.

It appears that most of the casualties are in the Irrawaddi delta area, which has been hit by a tidal wave ahead of the cyclone. For the rest of the country the problems are mainly homelessness, after the cyclone has flattened many houses or ripped roofs off.

We have contacts with relief projects in the affected areas - . follow the link to our giving page .

Pray for Burma

Please pray for the the people of Burma(Myanmar) and their leaders as they recover and rebuild after the devastation of Cyclone Nargis.

  • Remember those in the Irrawaddy region who have been most severely affected
  • Pray that food prices stay within reach of those who need supplies the most
  • Pray that relief supplies will be let into the country
