To Do What?
Work with Manobo leaders to research, develop, and promote socio-economic development.

Possible Tasks
Research, develop, and promote means which would: a) lead small subsistence farmers towards a more profitable use of their land; b) help generate extra income for families; or c) help provide credit facilities for small farmers.

For how long?
Long term (3 years or more).

When?
Needed immediately.

What's required?
Learn the Cebuano trade language and then move to a tribal location to begin studying the Manobo language and culture. Begin ministry as language ability allows, working towards a church multiplication movement.

Language?
Cebuano and Manobo.

Type of person
Convinced of the importance of development work as a partner to church planting. Able to relate sensitively to people to avoid condescending or patronising attitudes. Skill in teaching and communicating new skills. Trained in area of work. Able to live simply.

Other Background Information
Within the 50,000 population target group, there are 17 small churches which form the Manobo Bible Church Association of Mindanao. Leaders are being trained at local Bible schools. MABCAM leaders are increasingly giving direction to the development of the church.
