God's sovereign protection
Due to the demographic nature of this area, many Christian professionals are attracted to this area. There is a nascent church among the Qiang and Qiangic-speaking Tibetans. This consists largely of individuals and families. As far as we know, these families are OK, but news will trickle out slowly from more remote areas.
Praise the Lord for his oversight. Several Christian professionals were absent from the afflicted regions after the Tibetan riots in April in the area. One group of Christians had relocated to Mongolia! Three Christian teachers in Wenchuan County have been reported to be fine. The only means of evacuation, however, is by helicopter. They will be low priority if their health is good. Pray for patience, and that they will be able to support and love the bereaved and injured around them.
