The righteous and the unrighteous of society need Christ

Some friends of mine invited me to go to share Christ at 4:30am in downtown Chiang Mai. I showed up, but my friends were sick and did not come, so I proceeded to go talk to people. I spent most of my time praying and had the chance to share Christ with 2 people. One was a young male prostitute who seemed very hopeless. He understood the gospel better than most because he was not self-righteous and understood that he was deep in sin. The other man I talked to was a kind of pimp. He was very bitter and angry. He said over and over again that no one could help him, not even God. He asked for money many times. I answered, "Money will not help you; you need Christ and he will change you." After the sun started to come out, all the prostitutes and crazy homeless people started to disappear as hundreds of monks streamed out of scores of temples. What God impressed on my mind was that here were the unrighteous and the righteous, according to Thai society and culture, all together in one place. But, both are just as lost in sin. Both need the same opportunity to believe in Christ. (Kennedy Paizs, partner, church-planting, Chiangmai, North Thailand)
- Pray that God will open the eyes of the male prostitute and pimp to see the hope in Christ and that they will make further contact for help.
- Pray for the gospel to reach both extremes of Thai society - those in the sex trade and those in the temples.
