A Young Man’s Tale

Boss is a teenager like many teenagers. He’s into friends, is playing in a band, and has that one girl whose attention he wishes he could capture. He is a young man full of dreams, and trying to find his way. Just last year he was baptized into the body of Christ as a proclamation of his faith in Jesus as the way he has been looking for. But recently there has been something in his eyes, something in his step that says Boss’ feet are itching for a new path. It was a regular day when we ran into Boss and found his appearance different—the effects of the closed school term, as youth express themselves in ways that they are not allowed during the school year. The major item that struck us was the “art” inked on his arm with pen at the hand of a friend. In the center was a clever 666 written so as to be seen only with a mirror. After a little chat I asked Boss if he knew the meaning of what was on his arm, and he said “no.” So we talked about his life and the need to be on guard. While we knew it to be a symbol and not necessarily his heart, it was a clear picture of the Enemy’s intentions. Boss is a hunted young man, his friends the ploy used of the enemy to attempt to hi-jack this young man’s soul. Boss is a teenager like many teenagers. - Pray for thousands of other teenagers like Boss who are on school break and searching for the meaning of life.
- Many churches throughout the country will have special classes and camps for youth during this month – pray that many teens will hear a clear presentation about Jesus in these events.
- Pray that each one will have a caring mentor to help them find their way.
