Church Planting Central Thailand

Church Planting Banphot Phisai

Serving the Lord in Central Thailand

In September 2006, the Lord has been leading us to Banphot Phisai, a district in Nakhon Sawan Province (meaning: Heavenly City), about 280km North of the capital Bangkok.

What is the situation here?
Many of the local people are farmers. The many Thai Chinese play an important role for the local economy and culture in this province. Many of them would call themselves Buddhists, even though many of them are worshipping their ancestors and Chinese Gods. In the countryside, many would call themselves Buddhists, but deep inside, they are Animists (spirit belief).

We are involved here in a new church plant with Pastor Suphatchot and his wife Nok. This is the first church in a district of more than 90`000 inhabitants. And there are still other districts around us without a single church.

How do we work?
We try to reach out to the community in different places through personal contacts, a local Radio station, cell groups and English classes. On Sundays, there is already quite a number of people meeting together to worship the Lord.

We long to see churches established dependant on the Lord, rather on the pastor or missionary. We long to see people growing in the Lord, in order that they themselves do, what the Lord Jesus Christ has called his disciples to do: Go into all the world and preach the Gospel.

How can you pray?
Please pray for the people in and around Banphot Phisai. May the Good News of the Gospel reach the many hearts, so that the many lost will find the only true way to the “Heavenly City” – which is Jesus Christ.
