Family Outreach
Increased family breakdown in Taiwan has contributed to a worrying rise in youth problems: violent crime, sexual immorality, suicide, drug and alcohol abuse, school dropouts. Many young people have experienced little real affection and love at home. They are open to anyone offering genuine care and friendship and they are refreshingly responsive to the gospel.
For this reason, OMFers are using youth and child evangelism as a starting point for bringing the gospel to entire families. OMF is currently building up a team to reach families in Wanhua by first building relationships with children.
Although the church in Taiwan is beginning to develop programs that appeal to Taiwan's youth, there is still much to be done. OMFers have started:
- programs in public schools - there is an open door into most schools.
- evangelistic activities
- vacation camps
- church youth fellowships
- and more.
