STEPS Missions Weekend (stay-in programme at Salvation Army, Bukit Timah) is organised twice a year.

The missions weekend runs from Friday night to Sunday evening. Come discover and walk through with missionary-mentors to process your missions call!

ABOUT STEPS MISSIONS WEEKEND

What is a calling? How can I know if I am really called to the mission field? What makes a missionary? How can I decide if I should go short-term, or long-term or be a tent-maker? What are the requirements of a missions agency? How long does it take to become a missionary? How can I prepare myself and seek confirmation? How can I know if I will survive on the field?

If these are some of your questions or doubts, we will help walk you through them step-by-step at the STEPS Missions weekend.

We have designed STEPS with a unique approach to help you in your journey to discern God’s leading for your life. It is interactive, dynamic and spiritual. It is a live-in weekend with space and opportunities for guided personal reflection, learning, praying and sharing with other fellow participants. Each participant will also be assigned a small-group mentor for the weekend, who would listen to you and guide you through.

Invest a weekend and find out what God's plan is for your life. Come as a single, or if you are married, come with your spouse.

PROGRAMME

Survey your spiritual journey

Take a step back before you consider moving forward. Revisit your spiritual journey. When was God most real to you? How has He kept faith with you? How about your low points? Are there any lessons you can gain from looking back?

Test your call

Is God calling you to the mission field? How can you be sure? How can you authenticate the call? Does your spouse/partner feel similarly called?

Evaluate obstacles and objections

What are the obstacles and objections to your going? What issues do you have to settle before you go? Who else needs to get involved in this decision – parents, spouse, children, girlfriend/boyfriend, mentor, church leaders?

Processing your next steps

If God is calling you, what should you do next? What needs to be done, when? If He is not calling you to the field, what is He calling you to do? How can you get involved in a supporting role?

Event Cost: SGD$100 per person / $190 per couple

If you are bringing your kid(s): $20 for 2-12 year- old / free for child below 2

All meals, teabreaks and lodging are provided during the STEPS missions weekend.
