OMF's 5 Ministry Challenges

Challenge One

To pursue holiness

Reaching the neglected frontiers demands first and foremost our personal devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ, who asks of us, not part, but all. We seek to be a Fellowship that lives our biblical discipleship with a reverent fear for the Lord.

Challenge Two

To reach the neglected frontiers of East Asia

We believe the Lord has laid upon our hearts the following 5 major priorities:

  1. Fresh initiatives in ministry to the cousins
  2. Persevering and expanding ministry to Buddhist-influenced peoples
  3. Taking up more of the many opportunities in China
  4. Reaching East Asia’s Diaspora in East Asia and around the world
  5. Kindling indigenous missionary movements

Challenge Three

Call for Prayer for New Workers

We are calling for prayer for some 900 new workers to join us over the next five years. The 900 would be composed of 700 for frontline or direct ministry roles and 200 for support and mobilisation roles. We are concerned that these workers should be men and women called of God, consecrated to Him, pursuing holiness, and willing to count the cost.

Challenge Four

To assess, care for, and equip the workers God brings us

  1. Commitment to careful selection in our candidate assessment process
  2. Commitment to membercare
  3. Commitment to member training

Challenge Five

To engage with the Sending Church in fresh ways

We believe the Lord is calling us to partner in fresh ways with His church worldwide to reach the peoples of East Asia.
