We feel so overwhelmed by the extent of the devastation caused by the earthquake and tsunami as well as the anxieties and uncertainties concerning the implications of the damaged Fukushima nuclear plant. But it is at this time, more than ever, that we remember and proclaim that our God is on the throne and He knows all things. He calls us again to be instruments for His purposes for Japan at this time.
Pray for good resolution to the problems at the nuclear plant without more spillage of radiation. Pray for protection and wisdom for those working to contain it.
Pray for the many, many traumatized by the loss of so much. Pray for those in evacuation centers, still waiting for adequate supplies of food and water and everyday items. Pray for pastors and Christians in affected areas as they seek to reach out to their own communities.
Pray for OMFers in all parts of Japan. God graciously protected all the OMF missionaries and we give Him thanks and praise. Pray for God to continue to grant peace, comfort and protection. Please pray for wisdom for OMF leadership and the Crisis Management Team. Pray for the missionary groups going out on relief teams, bringing needed supplies and providing support for Japanese churches and OMF missionaries in the affected areas. Pray for those too behind the scenes, especially those working at the CRASH command center, pray for extra wisdom and energy as well as balancing their regular ministry responsibilities with working in the CRASH office. Pray for God to work through CRASH as they network and set up 5 base camps for the relief teams to use.
Pray that as Japan has been literally shaken, so it will spiritually be shaken! Pray the Japanese will turn to God in their time of felt need. Pray for Christians to be bold in sharing the hope they have and that they will have strong faith and confidence in their God of Refuge in these uncertain days.
