What we do

We care for the uncared for. Sick people. Alcoholics. The exploited, abused, poor. Prosperous but lonely. Young and old. Religious and non-religious. Businessmen, students, factory workers and many others.

We work closely with churches at home and in close partnership with the church in East Asia; doing so in teeming mega-cities, remote villages and among tribal peoples.

We share the love of Christ to East Asians in Asia and in other countries too, including New Zealand. We support each other, sharing information and experiences, especially through our events.

We place people of all ages - young people who want to go to Asia for a short time - and professionals who will go out with OMF on a long term basis.

If you're serious about your faith, and have the right gifts and abilities, a steady devotional life, a sense of God's calling, and the support of your church and friends - why not join us?

'There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. And in the church God has appointed apostles, prophets, teachers, those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration.'

(1 Corinthians 12:5-28)

We need people who can give two or more years to help OMF workers and their families in East Asia, providing the kind of back-up and support that is essential if those on the frontline are to go forward. Theological training, though not required for all openings, is an advantage - particularly for those offering long-term service. Language study and help in adjusting to your new country will be provided.

Short-term opportunities, from four weeks to two years, are also available.

You can serve Asia through:

  • Evangelism
  • Discipleship
  • Church planting
  • Leadership Training
  • Theological Teaching
  • Producing Literature
  • Serving in professional capacities
  • Caring for the underprivileged
  • Administration

Whatever your background or training, we can find the slot for you.
