Teacher at Christian Acadamy in Japan
David Marshall is a full-time teacher at CAJ. He teaches middle school (particularly year 8) maths, science and Bible. He has a number of other administrative responsibilities, including Fine Arts coordinator, head teacher of middle school and science department chair.
Christian Academy in Japan is a K-12 school established in 1950 to provide Christ-centered education to the children of evangelical missionaries. While continuing in this purpose, CAJ also serves many other families who desire this type of education for their children. CAJ is committed to equipping students to impact the world for Christ.CAJ's program is communicated in the English language and is based upon an American approach which uses United States educational standards, course sequences and options (college preparatory and career), instructional materials, standardized tests, educational research, and cocurricular activities.
Wendy Marshall is full-time carer of their youngest two children at present (6 and 4), while our eldest son is at CAJ in 4th grade. She is also part of the Japanese Diaspora Ministries Link team, a small group committed to supporting those in ministry to Japanese outside of Japan. Her main role is editor of a newsletter for their benefit. She also puts together the OMF Japan calendar which is produced every year for members' use.
CAJ has only one other OMF member working there at present, Kathi Weemes. Many other missions have members on staff as well as direct-hire staff who do not belong to any mission society.
More workers needed? Yes. Each year CAJ has staff vacancies and of course this varies from year to year. Check out the CAJ website for vacancies http://www.caj.or.jp
