Church Planting Sendai

Sendai is a city of 1 million on the Pacific Coast of NE Japan, and the largest city between Tokyo and Sapporo. It is a growing city which is overflowing its city limits with any news unchurched housing estates and new towns. It is known as the gateway to the Tohoku and has a large port and industrial centre. There are 15 universities and a high student population. Church attendance in Japan is 0.22% but in Miyagi Ken which includes Sendai it is 0.18% (less than both Hokkaido and Tokyo). It is a pleasant place to live and work with mountains and the sea within a short drive. Winters are mild and summers arent too hot. It has an international school. It is close on expressways and is served by the bullet train and also has an international airport.
