Teaching conversational English provides a community service and is one of the most effective ways to develop friendships with Japanese. It provides a natural means of sharing your life with your students. Emphasis on learning English is growing among Japanese, especially for students, and more and more parents want their children to learn English.

We have ongoing opportunities in the Tokyo, Sendai, Aomori and Hokkaido regions.

Requirements: Native speaker of English; outgoing personality and a love for people; ability to teach; terms from 6 months to 3 years (at least one year is highly recommended); TEFL course recommended but not required.

All OMF Short-term Workers must come fully supported financially and in prayer from their home country. At this time OMF-Japan does not offer 'salaried' English teaching positions or provide assistance in obtaining a job in Japan.
