What Is Serve Asia?
Serve Asia is a mission discipleship program which encourages short-term workers toward purposeful involvement:
- Going
- Sending
- Learning
- Welcoming
- Praying
- Mobilizing
Participants work alongside OMF long-term missionaries and make strategic contributions to the goal of a church movement in each of East Asia's people groups.
Values Vision and Mission
Serve Asia values faith in God and commitment to one another in the faith community in praying, planning and working together for the mobilization of this generation. Serve Asia trusts in God's grace to equip us and to keep us faithful to our commitment for His ultimate glory.
Vision: Present and long-term kingdom impact in and through short-term workers and their sending communities, contributing to indigenous biblical church movements among East Asia's people groups, resulting in the global worship of Jesus Christ to the glory of God.
Mission: Through synergistic home-field partnerships, we mobilize, equip, and invest in short-term workers and their sending communities for purposeful involvement in reaching East Asia's peoples.
Serve Asia Today
In 2007, Serve Asia Canada has sent out 11 teams and 13 individuals placements to East Asia. These SA workers serve in many ways: from teaching and office administration to youth events and prayer journeys. They have been sent to Mekong, China, Japan, Malaysia, Brunei, Taiwan, Cambodia, and the Philippines!
As the harvest grows, there is and will be a need for more workers, both short-term and long-term. God-willing, Serve Asia will continue to facilitate His work amongst the East Asia's peoples through short-term work. In turn, we hope that short-term workers will also be a blessing on the long-term missionaries working in East Asia!
