OMF International was founded by J. Hudson Taylor in 1865 as the China Inland Mission. The CIM was a pioneer of the faith missions movement, becoming one of the most respected missions working in Canada.

By 1951 Christian workers withdrew from China. This represented a new beginning for the CIM, which soon became OMF (Overseas Missionary Fellowship). Today OMF is a Diverse Mission of 1,300 Members of 30 Nationalities.
