Influencing Cambodian Students For Christ

A Glimpse Into The Life of…

…Sreang

Sreang is a second year undergraduate at the local university in the capital city of Phnom Penh. His lecturer (an OMFer) was praying for at least one of his Khmer students to be regularly studying the Bible by the end of the academic year. And Sreang is one such student.
Sreang is a keen student. In December, he attended a Christmas outreach party his lecturer held for his class. The games were fun, but it was the Christian message that he heard that night which caught his attention.
Full of questions, he and three others from his class formed an evangelistic Bible study group, and they have met regularly since then. He is always asking thoughtful questions, and showing serious responses each week. Six months after the Christmas outreach party, Sreang began to pray, ‘Lord, help me to believe’.
Pray for many more students like Sreang, that they will hear the gospel message and respond in faith.

…Chandra

Chandra is a twenty-year-old student who has grown up in a Christian home and is actively living out her Christian faith. She attends the weekly ladies’ Bible study.
Chandra lives in a students’ dormitory run by her local church. She has an outgoing personality and makes friends easily. Besides taking care of her studies, she is also heavily involved in her church and dormitory, and serves as a volunteer in a non-governmental organization. Chandra has expressed interest to help the minority people groups in Northeastern Cambodia in the future.
Despite a busy schedule, Chandra enjoys attending Bible study where she learns to read and apply God’s truth in her daily life.
Pray for more students like Chandra, that they will love reading God’s Word and applying it in their daily lives.

…Sovanna

When Sovanna was a student, he attended the evangelistic Bible study at the OMF Student Centre. Upon graduation, he awaited placement as a police officer. He did not know where it would be, nor if he would be able to attend church regularly or have fellowship with other Christians.
Soon, Sovanna was appointed customs officer at the airport. The airport is not an easy place to work in. The hours are long, and he can hardly find time to attend church. He needs spiritual support in order to persevere in his Christian walk. However, Sovanna has been able to join the Graduates’ Christian Fellowship, which has a flexible schedule. There he continues to grow in his Christian faith, find encouragement and help encourage other graduates who are also learning to stand firm in their workplace, and to be salt and light in Cambodian society.
Pray for other Christian graduates like Sovanna, that they will continue to grow in their Christian faith and be strong Christian witnesses in their workplace in Cambodia.
