Faith for the Adventure

10/04/2007 4:17 am

Just after her 3rd birthday Febe arrived in Phnom Penh with her parents and sister. This was the final stop after 3 and a half months of moving from city to city. Jakarta, Bandung, Sumatra, Singapore, and now Phnom Penh. She could speak Indonesian already. In Singapore she learned how to function in a mainly English community. Now she entered the Khmer community.

Febe was with her parents, that’s all that mattered to her. She was happy and free to enjoy her once again new surroundings in Phnom Penh. Tuk-tuks were exciting. Febe sat beside her mother, squealing with delight as the tuk-tuk lurched into action and picked up speed. Cambodian traffic, a wonder to behold at the best of times, roared past the tuk-tuk from all sides. The dust, the noise, the near misses as they weaved in and out of the other vehicles on the way to market, this was all great entertainment to Febe. Her world was alright because her mother was at her side. She enjoyed the adventure.

“Jesus said to them, ‘Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them. For the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I assure you, anyone who doesn’t have their kind of faith will never get into the Kingdom of God.’”

Pray that all of us on the team would have such faith: able to enjoy the adventure because of the assurance that our Father is right there with us.
