God at work
In The Path to Enlightenment by John R. Davis (published by Hodder & Stoughton), the author recounts the following engaging interaction with a taxi driver in hot, humid and fume-filled Bangkok:
… after being in a traffic jam for what seemed an eternity the cab driver suddenly burst out, ‘Oh, if only this was my last life to live!’
I responded by saying, ‘But surely you have not gained sufficient merit for that, have you?’ to which he replied, ‘Do you think that I would be driving this thing down here if I could be up there? Of course I don’t have enough merit!’
I then asked, ‘If there was someone who was good enough and great enough who would be willing to transfer sufficient merit to you so that you might be “delivered” what would you say to such an offer?’
He replied simply, ‘That would be good news.’
Enlightened Living? It only comes through the good news of Jesus Christ. That is why we at OMF continue to work in the Buddhist countries of the world. Come and read the stories and testimonies we have to share ...
