We believe God is able to supply our financial needs through His people and we pray regularly for this provision. Our part, in the words of the Lord Jesus, is to 'seek first His Kingdom and righteousness.'
How does this policy work in practice?
All OMF members are given a Total Support Figure (TSF) which shows the cost of keeping them in their ministry. They 'pray in' this share of OMF's funds.
How is the TSF worked out?
The TSF, which is reviewed annually, includes:
Personal living and other expenses (which vary widely from country to country and according to family size and personal circumstances)
Personal ministry costs
A share in the cost of OMF's overall ministry and administration
What level of support do the new members need?
All members look to the Lord to supply the full amount needed to keep them in their ministry. This may come from home churches and friends or from unspecified gifts shared from the General Fund.
OMF looks for evidence of financial support as a seal on a new worker's call from God and a sign that their sending church and friends are in partnership with them.
How can I find out about specific needs?
While no member is authorised to make appeals for funds on their behalf or on behalf of OMF, we are not committed to silence on matters of finance!
We are always happy to answer questions or give clarification about the support level of any member or about general financial matters.
Individual members are encouraged to share information on financial matters with people who are interested. We regularly issue financial reports to show God's faithfulness and to keep our supporters well informed.
How can I support a particular member?
You may do this by giving one-off' gifts directed to OMF International, specifying the name of the member you wish to support.
Alternatively, you may wish to commit yourself, as the Lord enables you, to regular giving in support of a member. Notification of your intent will assist us in assessing the total level of such support for each member.
Can I send a personal gift to a member?
Yes! We have a 'transmission' system for special personal gifts. You can help with unusual expenses, such as emergency medical costs and other unforseen circumstances through this channel.
However, this facility should not be used to bypass the normal support system outlined above.
What about remembering OMF in my will?
OMF has benefitted greatly from legacies over the years. If you would like further information, we would be happy to answer your questions.
Does OMF have special projects?
Yes. We are happy to give information on special projects in which OMF is involved.
Gifts for these projects are assigned totally as specified and do not go into the General Fund.
How can I give to OMF?
All money received is used in accordance with the expressed wishes of the donor. Unspecified gifts go to the General Fund (to the support of our under-supported members).
There are several ways you can give to OMF:
