A day in the life of a language learner
My heart beat quickened in anticipation and I furiously tried to make sense of what the others were saying. I glanced around the room. It was Kohei’s turn. What was he saying? Someone in his group had shared about something.... But was it a good thing I wondered? Was he encouraged? Or was he discouraged?

When huts become high-rises
A quick glance at the finance page of your favourite newspaper will tell you that business is booming in East Asia. The strengthening economy has captured the attention of the world. “Development” is the word on everyone’s lips, from the highest reaches of the politcal bureau to the smallest offices in the remotest towns.

- VIC - Target Asia, NOV 19 - This will be the last one for the year! The focus will be prayer for each Vic member, along with a time to thank God for what He has done in 2011 (and a look ahead at 2012). We will finish with lunch together (Please RSVP and bring $4 if you plan to attend the lunch).
- SA - Exploring Missions, 24 NOV - Topic: Mission Strategy: Strategic ways to reach the unreached. A combined OMF/SIM meeting for young people passionate about mission
- VIC - Heart 4 Asia, 3 NOV - Want to know what it is like to serve with OMF? What joining OMF looks like? What ministering to Thai in Sydney is like? What is going to happen to Thailand after all these floods?
- SA - Asia Focus, 19 NOV - This prayer and information event is our last time to all get together this year. May I encourage you to come and join us in prayer and fellowship. The Lord has been good to us. It will be great to give thanks, take stock of His blessings and pray for our missionaries and OMF initiatives. As Paul exhorted the Colossians 1:9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.
- NSW - Target Asia, 29 OCT - Come and hear about God's work in East Asia, and how you can be a part of it! We will have a special guest speaker visiting from Japan who will be speaking about student ministry through IFES. There will also be other OMF workers sharing their stories, as well as a time of prayer and worship. Our mobile bookshop is coming along too, with plenty of missions books and resources for you to get your hands on. Join us afterwards for lunch. See you there!
